What has been the most rewarding aspect of working at Seabury so far?
"The most rewarding aspect of working for Seabury has been witnessing firsthand how profoundly our work impacts people's lives. Every task we undertake, no matter how small, contributes to improving the quality of life for individuals who rely on our services. It’s not just about fulfilling organizational goals; it’s about making a tangible difference. Whether it’s providing access to transportation that restores someone’s independence or offering programs that uplift those struggling with depression, Seabury’s mission resonates deeply in the lives of those we serve. Knowing that our efforts help people age with dignity and find fulfillment in their later years is truly inspiring and fulfilling.
What makes this experience even more meaningful is hearing the heartfelt stories from those whose lives have been transformed. A simple service, like arranging a ride or facilitating social connections, can open doors to a renewed sense of purpose and belonging. These moments are constant reminders of why we do what we do—they affirm the power of compassion and community. At Seabury, we’re not just addressing immediate needs; we’re fostering hope, independence, and a better quality of life for people when they need it most. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of an organization that creates such life-changing opportunities every day."
What makes your home a home to you?
"To me, a home is more than just a physical space; it’s a feeling of comfort and belonging. It’s where the people I care about most come together. My home is filled with special moments—laughing around the dinner table, evenings watching a movie, or simply catching up after a long day. It’s the little personal touches, like family photos, meaningful mementos, or the smell of a favorite meal (spaghetti) cooking, that make it ours. Ultimately, a home is any place where I feel at peace, supported, and surrounded by love."
What do you like to do for dinner on a normal day?
"My wife is a teacher, and her demanding schedule, combined with my own, means that we both often get home late during the week. This leaves little time or energy for cooking, so preparing dinner has become more of a weekend ritual. During the week, we rely heavily on takeout or quick meal options, but we always prioritize sitting down together as a family for dinner. No matter how busy our days get, sharing a meal, even one that’s not home-cooked, is an important way for us to connect and unwind together. On the weekends, we cherish the opportunity to slow down, cook together, and enjoy a homemade meal, making it a special time to bond as a family."
What is an activity with other people that you really enjoy?
"One activity I really enjoy with others is participating in team games and trivia. Coming together with a group of people, pooling our knowledge, and working towards a common goal. Trivia, in particular, is my favorite because of the challenge of creating great conversations and some laughs from the responses. It's not just about winning (but I am really competitive); it's about learning, bonding, and laughing."
What is most important for you as you think about getting older?
"As I think about getting older, what’s most important to me is leaving a positive legacy by helping others and ensuring my family is well-prepared for the future. Mentoring and developing others is a way to share the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained, helping others grow and achieve their own potential. Whether it’s guiding a colleague, inspiring someone to take the next step in their career, or simply being a reliable source of support, I find fulfillment in lifting others up.
Equally important is making sure my family is set up for success and security in the years to come. This means not only providing for them financially but also teaching them values like resilience, kindness, and responsibility. It’s about creating opportunities for them to thrive and ensuring they have the tools to navigate life’s challenges confidently. By focusing on these priorities, I hope to make a lasting impact that extends beyond myself and contributes to a better future for my loved ones and those I have the privilege to guide."
