Summer at Seabury Age-In-Place®
On May 5, 2018, you could find Seabury volunteers and employees in black shirts and jeans in the parking lot of Annie’s Ace Hardware (in Brookland and Petworth) informing customers about Age-In-Place’s® mission and asking for their support of local service projects.
Seabury Age-In-Place® raised over $1,400 in in-kind donations at our 5th Annual Stuff the Shed donation drive. We received house cleaning supplies to clean our clients’ homes, yard tools to help us maintain our clients’ yards, and financial gifts to support the work of Age-In-Place®.
Now that it’s the Summertime, Age-In-Place® is picking up yard work services for our clients in DC’s wards 4, 5, and 6! We cut grass, rake leaves, trim hedges, and pull vines from fences. We will also be assisting with fine preventions, so if you know of a senior who has received a warning, please contact us at 202-635-8384.
Just because we’re more focused on the outside doesn’t mean that we’ve forgotten about the inside. We are still providing volunteer house cleaning services, too. We will vacuum, mop, and sweep, floors, dust furniture, and clean kitchens and bathrooms!
To make sure that we are able to serve all of our clients, we have extended our services to now include Saturday, operating 6 days a week this summer. If you are interested in volunteering individually or as a group, please contact us at ageinplace@seaburyresources.org or call 202-635-8384 ext. 102.
