Dinnis King Promoted to Seabury Connector Director

Seabury Resources for Aging is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Dinnis King (pictured) to the position of Director, Seabury Connector, effective September 1, 2017.

Mr. King joined Seabury Connector as Assistant Director in November 2015. During his tenure in that role, he worked closely with Ms. Lester Wynn, who recently announced that she will retire on August 31, 2017.

As Assistant Director, Mr. King had a significant role in the day-to-day management of Seabury Connector, including managing Seabury’s relationship with Teamsters Local No. 639, the collective bargaining agent for covered Seabury Connector employees. In addition, Mr. King has been principally responsible for developing and managing against approved Seabury Connector budgets.

Mr. King’s accomplishments as Assistant Director, Seabury Connector, include managing effective processes for obtaining licensure from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Commission (WMATC), and obtaining certification by Seabury as a provider of Medicaid transportation services with the District of Columbia’s Medicaid transportation broker, Medical Transportation Management. These critical accomplishments could not have been achieved in a timely manner without the dedicated and effective management skills demonstrated by Mr. King.

Prior to joining Seabury, Mr. King had a successful career as a military officer in the U.S Air Force, where he acquired significant leadership and management experience, including extensive transportation logistics management. Following his retirement from the U.S. military after 30 years of service, and immediately prior to joining Seabury, Mr. King served as a manager with C&S Wholesale Grocers, a regional wholesale grocery supplier.

As Director of Seabury Connector, Mr. King will manage and coordinate the operations of Seabury Connector. His responsibilities will include budget management, operations, and coordinating with key external stakeholders, including the D.C. Office on Aging, Teamsters Local No. 639, and other government and community-based organizations. He will also manage program development and business planning for Seabury Connector.
